Lux Power installers in South Africa
3 of the 390 businesses in this directory list Lux Power - about 0.8% of the installer base, across 2 provinces. Below: where they are, what they pair it with, and what that means for getting it serviced.
What Lux Power coverage actually looks like
Brand marketing tells you about the product. This tells you about the aftermath: how many South African businesses have already committed to fitting it, where they are, and whether there is anyone near you who has done it before. For a piece of equipment that has to be serviced under warranty for a decade, that is the more useful question.

LuxPower: the equipment itself
Affordable hybrid solutions. LuxPower is from China, trading since 2015, and sells into South Africa in the R12,000 - R45,000 range with a 5-year warranty on the terms published by the manufacturer.
Where Lux Power installers are
Concentration matters when something breaks. A brand carried by twelve installers in one province and none in yours is, from your kitchen, a brand with no support.

Lux Power: what buyers ask
3 of the installers in this directory list Lux Power, spread across 2 provinces, concentrated in Gauteng where 2 of them operate. Installer count is a reasonable proxy for support depth, because it tells you how many local businesses have already trained on the product, hold spares, and can be called when something fails out of hours. A brand with excellent specifications and two installers in the country is a worse buy for a household than a merely good brand with fifty, because the warranty is only as useful as the person who has to honour it.
Three things, in order. First, who the local distributor is and whether they hold stock in South Africa or import per order - the difference is a two-week versus a four-month replacement. Second, whether the warranty is honoured locally or requires shipping the unit abroad, which some brands quietly require. Third, whether the installer quoting you has actually commissioned this brand before or is fitting it for the first time on your roof. Ask how many they have installed in the past year; the answer is usually honest because it is easy to check.
Ask for the serial number of a recent installation and the commissioning report, and ask which distributor they buy through. Installers who genuinely work with a brand answer these instantly. Anyone who fits a brand regularly also has an account with its distributor, which is worth confirming, because equipment bought through grey-market channels frequently carries no local warranty at all.
No, and it is not close. The most common causes of a South African solar system underperforming are not equipment defects: they are undersized arrays, badly oriented panels, DC cabling run without proper isolation, batteries mounted where they overheat, and systems never registered with the municipality. All of those are workmanship, not brand. Choose a brand with real local support, then spend your remaining scrutiny on whoever is going to install it.
