Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies SolarZA sets, what each one is for, and how to change your mind. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy and POPI Disclaimer.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the site to work at all, such as staying signed in. Others are optional and help us measure what is useful or show advertising.

1. Strictly necessary

These make the site function. They cannot be switched off, because without them you could not sign in or hold a session. They do not track you across other websites.

2. Analytics (optional)

These tell us which guides, calculators and price pages people actually use, so we know what to improve. If you decline, we still receive anonymous, cookieless counts, which cannot identify you.

3. Advertising (optional)

Advertising pays for the free guides, load shedding schedules and price data on this site. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will be non-personalised: chosen from the page you are reading rather than from anything about you.

Google is our advertising partner. You can review and change your Google ad settings at My Ad Center.

Changing your choice

Your choice is stored for six months. You can change it whenever you like, and the banner will reappear so you can choose again.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the installer workspace from working.

Your rights under POPIA

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to processing. See the POPI Disclaimer for how to exercise those rights.
