Felicity Solar installers in South Africa

Three things, in order. First, who the local distributor is and whether they hold stock in South Africa or import per order - the difference is a two-week versus a four-month replacement. Second, whether the warranty is honoured locally or requires shipping the unit abroad, which some brands quietly require. Third, whether the installer quoting you has actually commissioned this brand before or is fitting it for the first time on your roof. Ask how many they have installed in the past year; the answer is usually honest because it is easy to check.

Across the installers in this directory that list Felicity Solar, the most common pairing is Deye. Pairings matter more than the individual specifications: inverters and batteries have to speak to each other over a communications protocol, and a combination the manufacturer has certified will charge correctly, report accurate state of charge, and stay inside warranty. An uncertified pair can work for months and then behave unpredictably at exactly the point you depend on it. Ask for the manufacturer's approved compatibility list in writing, not a verbal assurance.

No, and it is not close. The most common causes of a South African solar system underperforming are not equipment defects: they are undersized arrays, badly oriented panels, DC cabling run without proper isolation, batteries mounted where they overheat, and systems never registered with the municipality. All of those are workmanship, not brand. Choose a brand with real local support, then spend your remaining scrutiny on whoever is going to install it.
